Edit beyond Vizard's auto-clip queue

Instead of waiting on cloud clip renders or baked agent revisions, cut, caption, layer graphics and dub directly on ChatCut's timeline.

Cut retakes without a 60-minute cap

Vizard charges upload credits per minute; ChatCut highlights spoken mistakes and cuts retakes on a free local timeline.

Try Speech Cleanup

Prompt kinetic captions with custom fonts

Vizard locks custom fonts behind Business; ChatCut layers bold kinetic captions behind your speaker with editable typography.

Try Add captions

Cut multicam and edit graphic layers

Vizard Agent bakes graphics into cloud renders; ChatCut switches podcast cameras and generates motion graphics layers you can tweak.

Try Editorial Explainer

Translate captions and dub in one place

Vizard gates subtitle translation behind Creator; ChatCut switches translated scripts and captions for free, then dubs and lip-syncs.

Try Video Translation

Drive your local timeline from Claude

Vizard's remote MCP runs cloud jobs using your Vizard credits, while ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code and Codex to your local timeline using your own AI quota.

Codex

Build an explainer from a webinar

Read chatcut.io/desktop to install ChatCut, then trim my webinar recording to the key demo, add editable animated chart callouts and export a Premiere XML timeline.

ChatCut vs Vizard FAQ

Is ChatCut a good Vizard alternative?

Yes, especially if you want to edit the full timeline, tweak motion graphics layers by hand or drive edits from Claude Code and Codex without spending Vizard cloud credits on every revision. ChatCut also includes watermark-free local 4K export, caption translation and Premiere, DaVinci or CapCut project handoffs on the Free plan. If you mainly want mobile clipping or built-in social media post scheduling, Vizard is still a strong fit.

How does ChatCut's MCP compare with Vizard Agent MCP?

Vizard's remote MCP sends a brief to Vizard Agent in the cloud, waits 10 to 60 minutes for a rendered video and deducts credits from your Vizard account. ChatCut Desktop runs a local MCP server on Mac and Windows so Claude Code, Codex and other agents edit your live multitrack timeline directly using your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription.

Can Vizard export XML timelines for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut?

No. Vizard exports rendered MP4 clips plus TXT or SRT transcripts (SRT requires a paid Creator or Business plan). ChatCut exports editable Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve XML timelines as well as desktop CapCut and Jianying drafts for free.

Is ChatCut free?

Yes. The Free plan includes the editor, uploads, transcription, captions and standard exports. AI generation and the built-in agent use credits, and AI video generation needs a paid plan.

Can I use ChatCut from Claude Code or Codex?

Yes. The ChatCut plugin runs in Claude Code and the Codex app, and ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code, Codex and other agents through a local MCP server. Your agent edits the real timeline, which you can keep adjusting by hand.

How the plugin works
Can I finish a ChatCut edit in another editor?

Yes. ChatCut exports XML timelines for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and ChatCut Desktop also exports editable CapCut drafts. It does not export Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML).
