Is ChatCut a good Fliki alternative?

Yes, if you want avatars alongside your own footage, editable motion graphics and a desktop timeline driven by Claude Code or Codex. Fliki also has AI editing, a multitrack timeline and motion graphics, and suits a scene-based narration workflow. ChatCut's local exports and desktop video background removal are free; AI video and image generation require Pro plus credits.

Does Fliki already work with Claude?

Yes: Fliki's official Claude Desktop plugin uses MCP to create and edit cloud projects on Premium and Enterprise, with generated media using Fliki credits. ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code, Codex and other MCP agents to your timeline, using your agent's own subscription for reasoning; ChatCut media generation has separate charges.

Which editing costs differ from Fliki?

Fliki charges 0.5 credits per second for video background removal and 0.1 credits per minute for video export, and lists templates on Standard and Premium. Its Free plan includes 3 monthly credits, so a credit charge does not always require a purchase. ChatCut includes desktop video background removal, local 4K export and built-in MG templates free; generating new media or asking its built-in agent to edit is charged separately.

Is ChatCut free?

Yes. The Free plan includes the editor, uploads, transcription, captions and standard exports. AI generation and the built-in agent use credits, and AI video generation needs a paid plan.

Yes. The ChatCut plugin runs in Claude Code and the Codex app, and ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code, Codex and other agents through a local MCP server. Your agent edits the real timeline, which you can keep adjusting by hand.

How the plugin works

Can I finish a ChatCut edit in another editor?

Yes. ChatCut exports XML timelines for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and ChatCut Desktop also exports editable CapCut drafts. It does not export Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML).
