Rush retired,
AI arrived

Premiere Rush was a manual social editor with Sensei auto-ducking, discontinued in September 2026. ChatCut is AI-native: describe the edit, or let Claude Code and Codex cut your timeline.

Step past Rush's manual cuts and titles

Where Premiere Rush left you splitting clips with the scissors tool and typing every title card by hand, ChatCut edits transcripts, captions and motion graphics from a prompt.

Cut retakes without the Rush scissors tool

Instead of scrubbing waveforms and clicking Split in Premiere Rush, let ChatCut highlight spoken mistakes and cut retakes automatically.

Try Speech Cleanup

Auto captions Rush never built in

Premiere Rush had no speech-to-text captions; ChatCut transcribes speech for free and layers kinetic display captions behind your speaker.

Try Add captions

Prompt motion graphics beyond MOGRT presets

Instead of hunting Adobe Stock for fixed MOGRT titles in Rush, prompt custom motion graphics cards with editable timeline layers.

Try Editorial Explainer

Translate and dub without re-recording voiceovers

Premiere Rush only recorded live mic tracks; ChatCut switches translated scripts, captions and lip-synced dubbing across languages in one project.

Try Video Translation

Automate social edits from Claude or Codex

Premiere Rush ended support in September 2026 without external AI agents, while ChatCut Desktop opens your local timeline to Claude Code, Codex and any MCP agent.

Claude Code

Clean up and caption a social video

Read chatcut.io/desktop to install ChatCut, then remove filler words and retakes from my talking-head video, add kinetic captions and export in 4K.

Codex

Cut a vertical promo and export Premiere XML

Read chatcut.io/desktop to install ChatCut, then turn my footage into a 30-second vertical promo with animated callouts and export an XML timeline for Premiere Pro.

ChatCut vs Premiere Rush FAQ

Is ChatCut a good Premiere Rush alternative?

Yes, especially now that Adobe ended Premiere Rush downloads in September 2025 and discontinued support in September 2026. ChatCut runs on Mac, Windows and the web with free local 4K export, automatic captions, voice noise cleanup and an AI agent—plus Claude Code and Codex—that edits your multitrack timeline. If you specifically want a mobile phone app to replace Rush on iOS or Android, Adobe's Premiere mobile app or CapCut is a closer fit since ChatCut is desktop and web only.

What happened to Adobe Premiere Rush?

Adobe removed Premiere Rush from Adobe.com and app stores on September 30, 2025, stopped subscription renewals, and ended technical support and Creative Cloud desktop distribution on September 30, 2026. Creative Cloud file sync for Rush was also retired earlier in February 2025.

Can I move projects from Premiere Rush or ChatCut into Premiere Pro?

ChatCut does not open native Premiere Rush project files, though existing desktop Rush projects can be converted inside Premiere Pro using Open Adobe Premiere Rush Project. From ChatCut, you can export rendered videos up to 4K, editable XML timelines for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut drafts on desktop.

Is ChatCut free?

Yes. The Free plan includes the editor, uploads, transcription, captions and standard exports. AI generation and the built-in agent use credits, and AI video generation needs a paid plan.

Can I use ChatCut from Claude Code or Codex?

Yes. The ChatCut plugin runs in Claude Code and the Codex app, and ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code, Codex and other agents through a local MCP server. Your agent edits the real timeline, which you can keep adjusting by hand.

How the plugin works
Can I finish a ChatCut edit in another editor?

Yes. ChatCut exports XML timelines for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and ChatCut Desktop also exports editable CapCut drafts. It does not export Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML).
