Does iMovie have auto captions or AI background removal?

No. In iMovie, you add text by manually typing into preset Title cards, and background replacement requires shooting in front of a green or blue screen. ChatCut includes free automatic speech transcription and captions, plus free AI subject background removal on the desktop app.

Can I open iMovie projects in ChatCut or Final Cut Pro?

Yes. ChatCut exports XML timelines for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and ChatCut Desktop also exports editable CapCut drafts. It does not export Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML).
