Quick answers

How much does ChatCut cost?

ChatCut has a Free plan, and its paid plans cost $25 for 100, $48 for 200, $92 for 400, $180 for 800, $270 for 1,200, $450 for 2,000 credits per month, or $252 to $4,212 per year with annual billing. One credit has a face value of $0.25, and credits pay for AI generation and the built-in agent.

Is ChatCut free?

Yes. The Free plan includes the core editor, uploads, transcription, captions and standard exports, with up to 60 minutes of cumulative cloud or web export. AI video generation and transparent ProRes 4444 export require a paid plan.

Can ChatCut export 4K video?

Yes, with local rendering. ChatCut Desktop exports 4K on your computer, and the web app offers 4K when it renders the export in your browser and the browser can encode 4K. Cloud rendering goes up to 1080p.

Which AI video models does ChatCut support?

ChatCut offers Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast, Seedance 2.0 mini, Gemini Omni, MiniMax H3, MiniMax H3 Max, Kling 3.0 and Kling 4.0 for video generation, which requires a paid plan. Image models are GPT Image 2.5 Flare, GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, GPT Image 2 and Nano Banana.

Does ChatCut work with Claude Code, Codex or ChatGPT?

Yes. The ChatCut Agent Plugin runs in Claude Code Desktop, the Codex desktop app (signed in with a ChatGPT account) and WorkBuddy, and ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code, Codex, Hermes Agent and WorkBuddy through a local MCP server. The plugin does not install into ChatGPT's or Claude's websites.

Can ChatCut export to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro?

ChatCut exports XML timelines for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve from both the web app and Desktop, and ChatCut Desktop also creates editable CapCut and Jianying drafts. It does not export Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML).

Which platforms does ChatCut run on?

The ChatCut web app runs in a desktop browser at app.chatcut.io, and ChatCut Desktop runs on macOS 13 or newer (Apple silicon or Intel) and Windows 10 or newer (x64). Linux is not supported, and neither version works fully offline.

How much does ChatCut cost?

ChatCut has a Free plan and paid plans that differ by the number of credits included each month. Annual billing is paid once per year.

Credits per month Monthly billing Annual billing Annual, per month
Free $0 $0 $0
100 $25/month $252/year $21
200 $48/month $456/year $38
400 $92/month $864/year $72
800 $180/month $1,692/year $141
1,200 $270/month $2,532/year $211
2,000 $450/month $4,212/year $351

The paid plans add recurring credits, AI video generation, transparent ProRes 4444 motion-graphics export, and remove the Free plan’s cloud export limit. See Free and Pro and the pricing page.

How do ChatCut credits work?

  • One credit has a face value of $0.25. Generation charges are based on the provider’s cost for the selected model and settings.
  • One credit balance belongs to each ChatCut account and is used across the web app, ChatCut Desktop, and the Agent Plugin.
  • Credits pay for AI processing and generation: messages to the built-in ChatCut Agent, and video, image, music, sound-effect, voiceover, and motion-graphics generation. Agent messages are charged by model usage, so their cost varies with the request and the context processed.
  • Each video generation is a separate job and charge; requesting another take charges again.
  • Uploading media, manual timeline editing, transcription, caption editing, and exporting do not use credits.
  • Credits included with a subscription expire 60 days after they are granted.
  • Running low on credits never buys a credit pack automatically. Subscribers can buy one-time packs of 100 credits ($30), 200 ($60), 400 ($120), or 800 ($240).
  • When Claude Code or Codex controls ChatCut through the plugin or MCP, the agent’s own reasoning uses that agent’s subscription or API allowance. ChatCut credits are used only for ChatCut-hosted generation.

See Credits and Plans and Credits Overview.

How many credits does each AI model use?

These are starting rates at each model’s lowest-cost setting, matching the estimates in ChatCut’s Upgrade dialog. Higher resolutions, longer clips, and reference media cost more. The editor shows an estimate before you submit, and Credits history shows the final charge.
